Of course, I saw all the blank space on it and went about customizing it.

Finished Object - Monk's Travel Satchel
I admit it. I'm a bag junkie. I've been buying up those $1 bags in grocery stores not only for using groceries, but to also store knitting projects. I came across the Monk's Travel Satcheland immediately fell in love.
Of course, I saw all the blank space on it and went about customizing it.

Finished Object - Marley's Ghost
My first Marley's Ghost was sent to a friend, and I had to make one for me. I love this chain link pattern. I'm tempted when I become independently wealthy and can afford the wool to make some sort of chain mail shawl or vest.

Finished Object - Wolfie
I finished one more project, a wolf based on the Husky in World of Knitted Toys
.

I had the hardest time finding safety eyes. I didn't want to spend $5 in postage for a $0.69 part. But every major chain, and a few independent craft store I checked didn't have any. So I ended up having to mail order them anyway. But the wait was worth it. :)

Finished Object - Moose on the Loose
This Moose on the Loose is intended for a friend who collects moose. However he's so cute, I'm tempted to keep him for myself.

Finished Object - Marley's Ghost
I showed a friend Marley's Ghost telling her that I was going to make it as a long scarf or a belt. She said she wanted one. So guess whose was finished first? ;)

Finished Object - Extermiknit!
The friend I knit the TARDIS for kept joking that I should make her a Dalek to go along with it. Little did she know I was already working on Extermiknit for her birthday.

Now she's hinting she wants a Doctor.

Finished Object - Benetar
About two years ago, I began playing Guitar Hero. I don't claim to be that good at it though, but I really do enjoy letting my Inner Rock Goddess out to play.
So I had to make a Benetar from New Knits on the Block: A Guide to Knitting What Kids Really Want
for myself.

iPhone Cozy
One of my presents this year was an iPhone. And instead of spending money on a leather case, made one based on the Funky Fones 6x6 Cable Case.
Empty.

With the iPhone tucked inside.

When I get a little more confidence, I'll give the Owl Cable one a try.

DROPS Slippers in Garter Stitch
DROPS Slippers in Garter Stitch are an interesting elf boot like pattern. It makes up quickly, but it is a bit tricky to put together if you are using a single color like I did.

Labels:
Christmas 2008,
DROPS Slippers,
finished objects,
slippers
Metallicar Dishcloth
It's hard to see the pattern in this one, mostly due to my sucky photo taking skills. The Supernatural Impala Dishcloth Pattern is what I based the Metallicar Illusion Scarf on.
A Mischief of Mice
I've made mice (pattern from Stitch 'n Bitch Nation
Fingerless Mitts

I did the Alien Illusion Scarf for a friend in a variegated color. We got talking about how cold it gets where she lives, and she mentioned how she thought that fingerless mitts rock. I never have done mitts or gloves before, but I found the 220 Fingerless Mitts pattern and gave it a try.

TARDIS
As promised, here are the pictures of the Christmas gifts I knitted. I'm breaking this into several posts because there are so many of them. :)
First up, a TARDIS for a Dr. Who fan. And yes, I've threatened to knit her the matching Dalek. For some reason, she doesn't seem to be taking my threat so seriously

When I came across the pattern, I had no idea that this would be so huge. I knit it on #5 US needles. Here's a few shots with a ruler to give you the idea of the scale. If I do it again, I'm seriously considering doing it on #2 or even #1.

Another finished object and APE
This weekend I went to The Alternative Press Expo to meet some of my favorite webcomic authors - Bill Holbrook of Kevin and Kell, Jennie Breeden of The Devil's Panties and Geebas on Parade, of Alina Pete of Weregeek, Shaenon Garrity of Narbonic and Skin Horse, and David Malki of Wondermark.
And while there, it was the perfect chance to wear my new R2D2 Beanie. It was completed on the 29th, but sadly we had no trick-or-treaters for me to show it off to on Halloween.

I had about five people ask to take my picture. It's funny when the cartoonist you're there to meet is squeeing over you as much as you are squeeing over them.

What I did this weekend.
While watching movies with my friend this weekend, I knitted a pair of Ridiculously Easy Mary Jane Slippers.

Cool, aren't they?
